My name is Sara. I am a mom of 5. I enjoy writing poetry in my spare time. I enjoy walking on the beach and nature. Some of the things I love are watching the sunrise, sunset, and listening to music. Being featured for the Month of September is truly an honor, but the greatest reward has always been knowing that I made someone feel a little less alone, a little more comfortable, or simply reminded them that they are important. It’s a privilege working for Gently Aging Home Care, and every moment has reminded me why I chose this path. Being a caregiver is so much more than providing care. To me, it is about making a difference in someone’s day, even through the smallest acts of kindness. Every person I care for has their own story, their own experiences, and their own needs, and I believe everyone deserves to be treated with patience, compassion, dignity, kindness and above all respect.
During my career in homecare, I’ve learned that sometimes the most meaningful things you can give someone are time and attention while providing compassionate care. Whether I am helping with their daily needs, listening, sharing a laugh, or simply being their companion; I want the people I care for to feel how important they are. I am proud of the work I do, and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving others with compassion and love. Today I thank every client that has trusted me and allowed me to be a small part of their story. You are the reason I continue to love what I do.
